De- and Reclassified Landscapes: A Spatial Right Design for Moston Lane
Guided by an ANT framework, this project set out to identify and address structural inequalities within the Moston Lane community.
Spatial observation rights in this area are no longer unilaterally governed by rigid, capital-driven hierarchies. Instead, these rights are mediated by a rational, mechanized system—an experimental system where all stakeholders engage as equal participants. In this system, “weeds” serve as ecological monitors, providing data on the balance of sapatial observation. This evaluation system actively resists the artificial, capital control of space.
The design of these spaces no longer follows a logic that prioritizes classification; instead, it takes the actions and experiences of individual stakeholders (actors) as its primary reference point, establishing connections between actors before considering form or classification.
